Pyrrhic Victory
Pyrrhic victory
to age well. For who will date
these fat baldies? I.

to age well. For who will date
my fat, bald peers? I.

I just learned what "Pyrrhic Victory" meant today so I feel inclined to comment.
Pyrrhic Victory to go to school.
And be saddled with student loan debt,
be enriched with knowledge and experience.
I had to be optimistic at the end. I can just picture my blood and tears and continuing years of procrastination when I go off to college. (And yes, I am procrastinating right now by stalking all over your blog. Horace can wait, he's dead anyway.)
Thanks for commenting! I didn't think anyone read this blog anymore. I get the occasional Horace student, but I was more a scholar of Greek than Latin in my past life so I wouldn't follow my translations too closely. Student ebt is worse in theory than it is in practice. Money now is worth more to you than money in the future (because you'll have more of it in the future; also NPV is always higher now), so I think it's a great investment as long as you don't go crazy.
